  • Athletic Sports 2011 (75 photos)

    We had a great day with many, many parents supporting us. All the students participated and none gave up, they all tried their hardest, no matter where they came. Well done for awesome efforts and attitude!

  • Room 9 Pet Day (15 minutes) (41 photos)

    Room 9 children brought in their pets for 15 minutes. There was a variety of animals and everyone enjoyed looking at them and patting them.

  • Surfing 2011 (32 photos)

    In terms 1 & 4 those Year 6 pupils who can meet the safety criteria go surfing with Ms Dunn and Mr Collier. They have great support from their parents. This is a wonderful activity that we promote due to our closeness to the best surf beaches in New Zealand.

  • Cross Country 2011 (80 photos)

    On another beautiful day all the students walked down to the Lysnar Reserve at Okitu to participate in the school cross country. There was wonderful support from parents and whanau. A seal on the beach added to the occasion.

  • School Swimming Sports March 2011 (47 photos)

    All of NUI syndicate travelled to the Enterprise Pools to have our senior swimming sports. A lot of parents were able to come and support this event. All students participated

  • Community Hangi 4 March 2011 (35 photos)

    Every year we have a hangi as a fundraiser for our Waiata tutor. This year was the best yet! Daren and Linda Coulston organised it. Cher and Hamish Walton from Pak N' Save donated most of the food. Mark Cox from COXCO donated pumpkin, Don Green donated 2 pigs, Richard Scholefield donated a mutton and Paul Cornwall from Motu School...

  • Duathlon February 2011 (117 photos)

    Nui syndicate students all participated in our Duathlon. The course was around the school field and the soccer field next to the school. A large number of parents and whanau came to support the students. All students showed persistence, determination and no matter where they were coming in the race, did their best. A fantastic effort!   • November Student-Led Conferences (23 photos)

    We are holding our celebration of learning for the end of the year. We are all so proud of the progress students have made this year.

  • School Disco (45 photos)

    As a fun night and fundraiser we held a school disco organised by the Student Council and the Friends of Wainui. The theme was 'Black & White' or 'Colourful' Minnie won the best costume prize for Black and White. Noah won the best costume for 'Colourful'. We raised over $1000 from food and drink sales. Fantastic support from students and parents.

  • Yachting (16 photos)

    A group of Year 5 & 6 students had the opportunity to begin to learn to sail. Due to the weather being inclement they did it on the Taruheru and Waimata Rivers. Despite the weather they had a fantastic time.

  • Science Fair Projects 2010 (19 photos)

    Tom made a rocket for his science fair project. Sam helps Tom with the initial take-off. Tom's project has created a lot of interest throughout the school!

    At Wainui Beach we have 100% of our parents attend their child's student-led conference. At the conference the children celebrate their learning with their parents and families. They use their books to show the progress they have made. We use goal guidelines and benchmark sheets to report progress in relation to the National Standards. Our students share their goals with...

    In Term 3 we are focussing on Science. Classes are really enjoying learning through doing science experiments.

  • New Library (18 photos)

    We have built a fabulous new library, designed by Chris Shaw - Pacific Modern Architecture. Recently Chris won two architecture awards for the library. A big thanks to all the tradesmen from D. Stevens Ltd who worked so well with us. It is very well utilised by the students and teachers.
